PATRICK J. BARRETT CANDLER. Patrick Jay Barrett, 55, of 94 Oak Hill Road, died Monday, May 24, 2010.
Patrick was born in Asheville and was a son of Bernard J. Barrett, of the home, and the late Virginia Cady Barrett. He was a graduate of Enka High School and A-B Tech and served as an MP with the US Army in Germany. He worked in lawn care and enjoyed fishing more than anything else.
In addition to his father, Bernard, he is survived by three sisters, Darlene Sheldon and her husband, Michael, of Morganton, Miriam Barrett and her husband, Tim Snow, of Alpharetta, GA, and Michelle Barrett of Concord; two brothers, Christopher Barrett of the home and Paul Barrett of Carrboro; a nephew, Timothy Sheldon and his wife, Sarah, of Benson and an uncle, Dan Barrett of New Orleans, LA.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated by the Rev. Fr. Frank J. Seabo at 10:00 a.m. Friday at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall.
